So, another couple of months and loads of new series to add to the crossover chart. Most notably, Ubisoft has been including Rabbids and variations on Assassin’s Creed outfits in pretty much everything they do, but now they’ve included Ezio in Soul Calibur and Mario in Just Dance, so I finally had a good reason to add them. I also found that their football game included a bunch of Ubisoft characters, making it a good addition.
I’ve generally spaced out the chart to make some connections more readable, and rearranged the Sony neighborhood. While adding Ubisoft I also made room to expand Nintendo’s space, making it somewhat easier to follow. I added Ilomilo, Monster Rancher, Beach Spikers and Guardian Heroes. I’m looking to add Phantasy Star if I can get a clear list of what guest characters it has.
It’s also fun to note that this chart now links two characters inspired by Beatles songs. Rocket Raccoon (”Rocky Raccoon”) is in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with Ryu, who is in Street Fighter x Tekken with Kazuya, who is in Tekken 6 with Lars, who is in Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm with Naruto, who is in Jump Superstars with Jotaro Kujo, whose great grandfather was called Jojo after a character in ”Get Back”.
To make this anywhere near readable, I’ve set some limitations. Some links I simply left out, such as Final Fight and Darkstalkers also appearing in Namco x Capcom, and some redundant crossovers like Tekken x Street Fighter and SNK vs Capcom. I’m only listing crossovers happening between series – some series like Final Fantasy have their own internal crossovers as well. I’m not listing crossovers happening in other mediums, like Civil War in Marvel Comics. There is also a definition of what it takes for a game to have a crossover: a character or creature from a game must appear in another game ”in person”. Mentions, artwork, unlockable costumes or other minor tributes don’t count, or Little Big Planet would crossover with everything. However, the characters may appear in another form, like Liquid Snake appears as a cardboard character in Little Big Planet.
